Repository of Endogenous Knowledge

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Repository of Endogenous Knowledge (REK). Files of all types can be uploaded (text, photo, audio, video). Your contributions of endogenous and/or Indigenous knowledge resources are appreciated.

Within the REK, Indigenous knowledge (IK) and endogenous knowledge (EK) are treated as interconnected, acknowledging their distinctiveness. Endogenous knowledge encompasses the rich body of insights originating from the combination of the extensive Indigenous knowledge within the Global South and external knowledge from beyond its borders. The development of endogenous knowledge involves a comprehensive process of transdisciplinary knowledge transfers, borrowing, and migrations across time, locations, and communities within the Global South. The REK facilitates access to transdisciplinary endogenous knowledge from academic and non-academic communities alike.

This repository considers endogenous knowledge from diverse transdisciplinary sources, including agriculture and botany, public health and traditional medicine, environmental conservation of collective bio-cultural heritage, cultural and spiritual values, cosmology, artisanal and crafts products, social organisation and governance, oral and textual history, cultural heritage, as well as endogenous and Indigenous technologies, among others. Thank you for contributing to the wealth of knowledge that the REK brings together from across the Global South.
