El servicio de sanidad militar en el proceso de modernización, burocratización y profesionalización del ejército argentino (1888-1938)

Hacia fines del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX se inició la modernización, burocratización y profesionalización del Ejército Argentino. Como resultado de ese proceso se conformaron las divisiones del Ejército, esto es, organizaciones militares autónomas entre sí, compuestas por unidades de diferentes armas, elementos de apoyo de combate y de servicios. Entre estos últimos estaba el de sanidad militar, que actuaba en las unidades operativas de los distritos militares para el reconocimiento de los ciudadanos para el Servicio Militar Obligatorio y en los hospitales militares. Este artículo tiene por objetivos: 1) caracterizar ese proceso en sus relaciones con las concepciones de la defensa, organización, funciones y despliegue territorial del Ejército; 2) analizar, en ese marco, la conformación del servicio de sanidad militar entre 1888, con la sanción de la Ley Orgánica del Cuerpo de Sanidad del Ejército y la Armada, y 1938, con los cambios en el diseño orgánico del Ejército en vísperas de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Towards the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the modernization, bureaucratization and professionalization of the Argentine Army began. As a result of this process, the Army divisions were formed, that is, autonomous military organizations among themselves, composed of units of different weapons, combat support and service elements. Among the latter was that of military health, which acted in the operational units of the military districts for the recognition of citizens for Compulsory Military Service and in military hospitals. This article aims to: 1) characterize this process in its relations with the conceptions of the defense, organization, functions and territorial deployment of the Army; 2) analyze, in that framework, the conformation of the military health service between 1888, with the sanction of the Organic Law of the Army and Navy Health Corps, and 1938, with the changes in the organic design of the Army on the eve of World War II.Translated Description (French)
À la fin du XIXe siècle et au début du XXe siècle, la modernisation, la bureaucratisation et la professionnalisation de l'armée argentine ont commencé. À la suite de ce processus, les divisions de l'armée ont été formées, c'est-à-dire des organisations militaires autonomes les unes des autres, composées d'unités de différentes armes, d'éléments d'appui au combat et de services. Parmi ces derniers se trouvait celui de la santé militaire, qui agissait dans les unités opérationnelles des districts militaires pour la reconnaissance des citoyens pour le service militaire obligatoire et dans les hôpitaux militaires. Cet article a pour objectifs : 1) de caractériser ce processus dans ses relations avec les conceptions de la défense, de l'organisation, des fonctions et du déploiement territorial de l'armée ; 2) d'analyser, dans ce cadre, la formation du service de santé militaire entre 1888, avec la sanction de la loi organique du corps de santé de l'armée et de la marine, et 1938, avec les changements dans la conception organique de l'armée à la veille de la Seconde Guerre mondiale.Files
