Fundada en el año 1951, la Televisión Pública (LS 82 TV – Canal 7) es la primera emisora estatal de televisión abierta de la Argentina. Desde sus tempranos inicios incorporó un Departamento de Fotografía que se encargó de registrar el quehacer del canal con el objetivo de generar fotografía institucional y material de prensa. Durante el transcurso de casi setenta años de historia, la emisora implementó como política la guarda de estas imágenes. Sin embargo, la falta de aplicación de un criterio archivístico integral hizo de este acervo una mera acumulación de documentos de difícil acceso. El objetivo del presente artículo es reflexionar acerca de la importancia de la puesta en valor del Fondo de Fotografía Institucional de la Televisión Pública debido a su doble condición de patrimonio fotográfico y herramienta para la activación de patrimonios televisivos ausentes. Para ello, dividiremos la exposición en tres partes. En primer lugar, estudiaremos la historia de la constitución del acervo fotográfico, las características del mismo y las primeras intervenciones archivísticas realizadas por el Archivo Histórico de Radio y Televisión Argentina. Luego, indagaremos en el carácter documental y patrimonial que revisten las fotografías de dicho fondo. Asimismo, tendremos en cuenta los obstáculos que históricamente éstas debieron sortear para alcanzar tal entidad. Por último, investigaremos cómo la revalorización de estos documentos visuales habilita la activación de un patrimonio televisivo que se encuentra perdido por razones inherentes a la lógica de la industria de la televisión.

Founded in 1951, the Public Television (LS 82 TV – Channel 7) is the first state broadcaster of open television in Argentina. From its early beginnings, it incorporated a Photography Department that was responsible for recording the work of the channel with the aim of generating institutional photography and press material. During the course of almost seventy years of history, the station implemented as a policy the storage of these images. However, the lack of application of a comprehensive archival criterion made this collection a mere accumulation of documents that are difficult to access. The objective of this article is to reflect on the importance of enhancing the Institutional Photography Fund of Public Television due to its dual status as a photographic heritage and a tool for the activation of absent television assets. To do this, we will divide the exhibition into three parts. First, we will study the history of the constitution of the photographic collection, its characteristics and the first archival interventions carried out by the Historical Archive of Radio and Television Argentina. Then, we will investigate the documentary and patrimonial nature of the photographs of this collection. Likewise, we will take into account the obstacles that historically they had to overcome to reach such an entity. Finally, we will investigate how the revaluation of these visual documents enables the activation of a television heritage that is lost for reasons inherent in the logic of the television industry.Translated Description (French)
Fondée en 1951, la Télévision publique (LS 82 TV – Canal 7) est la première station publique de télévision ouverte en Argentine. Dès ses débuts, il a incorporé un département de photographie qui s'est chargé d'enregistrer le travail de la chaîne dans le but de générer des photographies institutionnelles et du matériel de presse. Au cours de près de soixante-dix ans d'histoire, la station a mis en œuvre comme politique la sauvegarde de ces images. Cependant, l'absence d'application d'un critère archivistique intégral a fait de cet acquis une simple accumulation de documents difficilement accessibles. L'objectif de cet article est de réfléchir à l'importance de la mise en valeur du Fonds de photographie institutionnel de la télévision publique en raison de sa double condition de patrimoine photographique et d'outil pour l'activation des patrimoines télévisuels absents. Pour ce faire, nous allons diviser l'exposition en trois parties.
