This study aimed to review the bioenergetics factors that contribute to lactate and blood glucose concentration changes and its importance for LAn determination. A bibliographic survey was performed in the internet the terms anaerobic threshold, lactate threshold, glucose threshold and its correspondents in Portuguese as key-words. Recently, various methodologies, such as individual anaerobic threshold (IAT) and minimum lactate, try to predict the maximal steady lactate state (MSLS). In the search for reliable physiological parameters some researchers have dedicated their time in blood glucose investigation as means to determine LAn, this methodology is known as glucose threshold (LGli). The use and determination of LAn faces several problems related to the vast number of terminologies, definitions and references used by researchers. Discussions about this methodologies and reasons to LAn occurrence are distant to an end, with new researches being necessary to consolidate which methodology really reflects the MSSL with smaller cost of time, financial resources as well as its theoretical assumptions.

Cette étude visait à examiner les facteurs bioénergétiques qui contribuent aux changements de la concentration de lactate et de la glycémie et leur importance pour la détermination du LAn. Une enquête bibliographique a été réalisée sur internet les termes seuil anaérobie, seuil lactate, seuil glucose et ses correspondants en portugais comme mots clés. Récemment, diverses méthodologies, telles que le seuil anaérobie individuel (TAI) et le lactate minimum, tentent de prédire l'état lactate stable maximal (ESM). Dans la recherche de paramètres physiologiques fiables, certains chercheurs ont consacré leur temps à l'étude de la glycémie comme moyen de déterminer LAn, cette méthodologie est connue sous le nom de seuil de glucose (LGli). L'utilisation et la détermination de LAn sont confrontées à plusieurs problèmes liés au grand nombre de terminologies, de définitions et de références utilisées par les chercheurs. Recientemente, varias metodologías, como el umbral anaeróbico individual (IAT) y el lactato mínimo, intentan predecir el estado de lactato estacionario máximo (MSL). En la búsqueda de parámetros fisiológicos confiables, algunos investigadores han dedicado su tiempo a la investigación de la glucosa en sangre como medio para determinar la LAn, esta metodología se conoce como umbral de glucosa (LGli). El uso y determinación de LAn enfrenta varios problemas relacionados con la gran cantidad de terminologías, definiciones y referencias utilizadas por los investigadores.
