El presente documento muestra los resultados obtenidos de un análisis sobre percepción de la calidad del servicio de alumbrado público y cómo este afecta el entorno económico y social del municipio de San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León. El estudio se llevó a cabo durante febrero 2019 en el municipio de San Nicolás de los Garza, ubicado dentro del área metropolitana de Monterrey. Parallevar a cabo el estudio, se realizó una encuesta semies-tructurada aplicada a 50 personas quienes anteriormente realizaron reportes sobre fallas técnicas en el alumbrado público de San Nicolás de los Garza. El método que se aplicó fue un análisis de varianza, en donde los principales resultados revelan que la calidad de servicio de alumbrado público en el municipio de San Nicolás de losGarza tiene un fuerte impacto sobre el ahorro económicoy la seguridad del municipio.
