Summary This paper aims to elucidate about the Kantian approach to the beautiful through an analysis of the "First part. Critique of the faculty of aesthetic judgment" of Immanuel Kant's Critique of the Judgment. The interpretation shows the importance of the work within the system of Transcendental Idealism and visualizes its central philosophical problems in relation to the central topics of nature (Critique of pure reason), beauty (Critique of judgment) and freedom (Critique of practical reason). The interpretation shows that the ideal of the beautiful realizes the unification and distinction of nature (phenomena) and freedom (noumens); but this ideal of the beautiful suffers from a process of metamorphosis that, according to the moments of the judgment of the taste of the "First Book.
