Plasma mineral profiles and hormonal activities of normal cycling and repeat breeding crossbred cows: A comparative study

The present study was carried out to compare the associated role of micro minerals and hormones in repeat breeding animals with the normal crossbred cows.Blood samples were collected from 10 normal cycling and 10 repeat breeding crossbred cows of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur to study the plasma mineral profile and hormonal activities.Zn was found to be highly significant (p<0.01) between the two groups. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and progesterone showed significant (p<0.05) difference in repeat breeding animal from the normal cyclic animal, whereas no significant differences were observed in Ca, P, Cu, Se, Co, luteinizing hormone and estradiol level.It may conclude that repeat breeding condition of crossbred cows in farm condition is mainly due to the low level of progesterone, FSH and zinc.

La présente étude a été réalisée pour comparer le rôle associé des microminéraux et des hormones chez les animaux reproducteurs avec les vaches croisées normales. Des échantillons de sang ont été prélevés sur 10 vaches normales et 10 vaches croisées reproductrices de Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur pour étudier le profil minéral plasmatique et les activités hormonales. Zn s'est avéré très significatif (p<0,01) entre les deux groupes. El presente estudio se llevó a cabo para comparar el papel asociado de los microminerales y las hormonas en animales reproductores repetidos con las vacas mestizas normales. Se recolectaron muestras de sangre de 10 vacas mestizas de ciclo normal y 10 de reproducción repetida de Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur para estudiar el perfil mineral plasmático y las actividades hormonales. Se encontró que el Zn era altamente significativo (p<0.01) entre los dos grupos. La hormona folículo estimulante (FSH) y la progesterona mostraron una diferencia significativa (p<0.05) en el animal reproductor repetido con respecto al animal cíclico normal, mientras que no se observaron diferencias significativas en el nivel de Ca, P, Cu, Se, Co, hormona luteinizante y estradiol.
