La figura de Miguel Barnet Lanza se aborda desde el lado antropológico como una contribución específica y original a la literantropología. Para ello, se utiliza el recurso del "encuentro" primero vivencial del escritor con la Revolución, y paralelamente con la metodología de la historia oral; luego, en la resolución de esta fórmula, fructificada en torno a Biografía de un cimarrón, que, siguiendo el camino abierto por la "literatura de fundación", Barnet convierte, gracias a su vinculación con el pensamiento de Fernando Ortiz, en "obra de fundación". Para finalizar, Barnet, que había sido poeta en su más tierna juventud, retorna a la poética, siempre con la mirada puesta en los otros.
