  • 1. National University of Mar del Plata

Description

The present article aims to analyze a testimony of one of the audiences in the Truth Trial in Mar del Plata (2001). This type of trial was developed in different cities of Argentina in order to reconstruct the truth about the crimes perpetrated by the genocide of the latest dictatorship (1976-1983). The hypothesis that guides it lies in the fact that, in the absence of other judicial forms to judge the repressors responsible for the crimes committed during the last dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983) and facing the prevailing impunity, these lawsuits are constructed as an alternative way for law and justice at the time of giving rise to witness-victims and are, therefore, modes of reparation. The general goal of this paper is focused on seeing how the declarant constructs a metatext to reflect on the Truth Trials and on the scope of the concept of truth. One of the important contributions of the study of these trials is that they are plausible to be connected with the current punitive trials in Argentina. The method of study is based on a linguistic and discursive analysis of the declaration (the testimony of a victim), which takes into consideration text-context relationships (historical, social, political and legal).
