Topological weak-measurement-induced geometric phases revisited

Abstract We present an analytic and numerica study of a class of geometric phase induced by weak measurements. In particular, we analyze the dependence of the geometric phase on the winding W of the polar angle φ, upon a sequence of N weak measurements of increased magnitude (c), resulting in the appearance of a multiplicity of critical measurement-strength parameters where the geometric phase becomes stochastic. Adding to the novelty of our approach, we not only analyze the weak-measurement-induced geometric phase by a full analytic derivation, valid in the quasi-continuous limit (N → ∞), but also we analyze the induced geometric phase numerically, thus enabling us to unravel the finite-N interplay of the geometric phase with the measurement strength parameter, and its stability to perturbations in the measurements protocol.

En plus de la nouveauté de notre approche, nous analysons non seulement la phase géométrique induite par la mesure faible par une dérivation analytique complète, valide dans la limite quasi-continue (N → ∞), mais nous analysons également la phase géométrique induite numériquement, ce qui nous permet de démêler l'interaction N finie de la phase géométrique avec le paramètre de force de mesure, et sa stabilité aux perturbations dans le protocole de mesures.

En particular, analizamos la dependencia de la fase geométrica en el devanado W del ángulo polar φ, en una secuencia de N mediciones débiles de mayor magnitud (c), lo que resulta en la aparición de una multiplicidad de parámetros críticos de medición-fuerza donde la fase geométrica se vuelve estocástica. Además de la novedad de nuestro enfoque, no solo analizamos la fase geométrica inducida por la medición débil mediante una derivación analítica completa, válida en el límite casi continuo (N → ∞), sino que también analizamos la fase geométrica inducida numéricamente, lo que nos permite desentrañar la interacción N finita de la fase geométrica con el parámetro de fuerza de medición y su estabilidad a las perturbaciones en el protocolo de mediciones.
