La insuficiente actividad física de la población es un problema de salud pública creciente. Su solución excede al campo de la salud llegándose a sugerir un enfoque interdisciplinario para su investigación. En este trabajo nos proponemos estudiar si es posible investigar la conducta en actividad física con fines de salud aplicando la metodología y la epistemología de los sistemas complejos propuestas por Rolando García.Se hará un repaso histórico del proceso de investigación en actividad física y salud y a continuación se discutirá la pertinencia de un abordaje sistémico en general y de la propuesta de Rolando García en particular.Llegamos a la conclusión que la actividad física para la salud es un objeto abordable mediante la metodología y la epistemología propuestas por García. Esto es así debido a que reúne las características necesarias para una investigación sistémica e interdisciplinaria, estas son: los componentes y niveles son identificables; el sistema cuenta con una historia de transformaciones y reestructuraciones; existe investigación disciplinaria y especialistas en cada área involucrada; hay urgencia por parte de agentes gubernamentales y distintas instituciones por resolver el problema.El desafío será entonces construir un equipo de trabajo preparado y con objetivos y marcos epistemológicos similares. La universidad podría ser un espacio propicio para formar un equipo de investigación interdisciplinario de estas características.

Insufficient physical activity in the population is a growing public health problem. His solution goes beyond the field of health, suggesting an interdisciplinary approach to his research. In this work we propose to study whether it is possible to investigate the conduct of physical activity for health purposes by applying the methodology and epistemology of complex systems proposed by Rolando García. A historical review of the research process in physical activity and health will be made and then the relevance of a systemic approach in general and of Rolando García's proposal in particular will be discussed. We conclude that physical activity for health is an addressable object through the methodology and epistemology proposed by García. This is because it meets the necessary characteristics for a systemic and interdisciplinary research, these are: the components and levels are identifiable; the system has a history of transformations and restructuring; there is disciplinary research and specialists in each area involved; there is urgency on the part of government agents and different institutions to solve the problem. The challenge will then be to build a prepared work team with similar epistemological objectives and frameworks. The university could be a conducive space to form an interdisciplinary research team of these characteristics.Translated Description (French)
L'insuffisance d'activité physique de la population est un problème de santé publique croissant. Sa solution dépasse le domaine de la santé en allant jusqu'à suggérer une approche interdisciplinaire pour sa recherche. Dans ce travail, nous proposons d'étudier s'il est possible d'enquêter sur le comportement en matière d'activité physique à des fins de santé en appliquant la méthodologie et l'épistémologie des systèmes complexes proposés par Rolando García. Un examen historique du processus de recherche en activité physique et en santé sera effectué, puis la pertinence d'une approche systémique en général et de la proposition de Rolando García en particulier sera discutée. Nous concluons que l'activité physique pour la santé est un objet abordable grâce à la méthodologie et à l'épistémologie proposées par García. C'est parce qu'il réunit les caractéristiques nécessaires à une recherche systémique et interdisciplinaire, ce sont : les composants et les niveaux sont identifiables ; le système a une histoire de transformations et de restructurations ; il y a une recherche disciplinaire et des spécialistes dans chaque domaine impliqué ; il y a urgence de la part des agents gouvernementaux et des différentes institutions pour résoudre le problème.
