Abstract Water scarcity is becoming increasingly noticeable in large urban centers. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence residential water consumption in a residential building located in the city of Goiânia, Brazil, during a pre-pandemic period of 6 months. To this end, graphical analysis, trend curves, and multiple regressions were used using the R language. The sample consisted of 43 housing units with a population of one to five people in each. Once the construction aspects of the building were fixed and the water price and the type of consumption measured, it was found that the number of residents, the monthly precipitation, and the maximum daily temperature directly influence residential water consumption.

Par conséquent, l'objectif de cette recherche est d'analyser les facteurs qui influencent la consommation d'eau résidentielle dans un bâtiment résidentiel situé dans la ville de Goiânia, au Brésil, pendant une période pré-pandémique de 6 mois. À cette fin, l'analyse graphique, les courbes de tendance et les régressions multiples ont été utilisées en utilisant le langage R. L'échantillon était composé de 43 unités de logement d'une population d'une à cinq personnes chacune. Une fois que les aspects de construction du bâtiment ont été fixés et que le prix de l'eau et le type de consommation ont été mesurés, il a été constaté que le nombre de résidents, les précipitations mensuelles et la température quotidienne maximale influencent directement la consommation d'eau résidentielle.

Por lo tanto, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los factores que influyen en el consumo de agua residencial en un edificio residencial ubicado en la ciudad de Goiânia, Brasil, durante un período prepandémico de 6 meses. Con este fin, se utilizaron análisis gráficos, curvas de tendencia y regresiones múltiples utilizando el lenguaje R. La muestra consistió en 43 unidades de vivienda con una población de una a cinco personas en cada una. Una vez fijados los aspectos constructivos del edificio y medido el precio del agua y el tipo de consumo, se encontró que el número de residentes, la precipitación mensual y la temperatura máxima diaria influyen directamente en el consumo de agua residencial.
