Efecto cicatrizante del matico (Piper aduncum) y propóleo, en heridas postquirúrgicas de caninos

Description
Objetivo: comparar el efecto cicatrizante del matico y propóleo en el tratamiento de heridas postquirúrgicas. Metodología: se realizó un estudio observacional y comparativo sobre los efectos cicatrizante mediante tres tratamientos T1 (Matico); T2 (Propóleo) y T3 (Solución salina-placebo), asignándose a cada tratamiento 8 perras (Canis lupus familiaris) que fueron sometidas a un proceso quirúrgico de ovariohisterectomía (OVH), en la Clínica Veterinaria "San Fernandos" en la ciudad de Loja-Ecuador. Resultados: se demostró que la pomada de matico y propóleo lograron mejores resultados en el tiempo de cicatrización y la reducción de largo de la herida, y que, si bien existieron diferencias entre estos y el grupo control, no existían diferencias estadísticamente significativas en los resultados entre la pomada de matico y propóleo. Además, se encontró menor número de pacientes con inflamación, dolor, costra, necrosis e infección en los grupos tratados con matico y propóleo durante los 21 días de estudio, frente al grupo control, todas características macroscópicas de importancia estudiadas en las heridas de los distintos grupos. Conclusiones: el matico y propóleo tienen eficacia en el tratamiento de las heridas postquirúrgicas, con una reducción del tiempo de cicatrización y tamaño de la cicatriz frente al grupo control que tuvo un mayor tiempo de cicatrización y poca disminución en el tamaño de la cicatriz.

Objective: to compare the healing effect of matico and propolis in the treatment of post-surgical wounds. Methodology: an observational and comparative study was carried out on the healing effects by means of three treatments T1 (Matico); T2 (Propolis) and T3 (Saline-placebo solution), assigning to each treatment 8 bitches (Canis lupus familiaris) that underwent an ovariohysterectomy (OVH) surgical procedure, at the "San Fernandos" Veterinary Clinic in the city of Loja-Ecuador. Results: It was shown that the matico and propolis ointment achieved better results in healing time and wound length reduction, and that, although there were differences between these and the control group, there were no statistically significant differences in the results between the matico and propolis ointment. In addition, fewer patients with inflammation, pain, crust, necrosis and infection were found in the groups treated with matico and propolis during the 21 days of the study, compared to the control group, all macroscopic characteristics of importance studied in the wounds of the different groups. Objectif : comparer l'effet cicatrisant de la matique et de la propolis dans le traitement des plaies post-chirurgicales. Méthodologie : une étude observationnelle et comparative sur les effets cicatrisants a été réalisée à l'aide de trois traitements T1 (Matico) ; T2 (Propolis) et T3 (Solution saline-placebo), attribuant à chaque traitement 8 chiennes (Canis lupus familiaris) qui ont subi un processus chirurgical d'ovariohystérectomie (OVH), à la clinique vétérinaire « San Fernandos » dans la ville de Loja-Equador. Résultats : il a été démontré que la pommade à la matique et à la propolis obtenait de meilleurs résultats en termes de temps de cicatrisation et de réduction de la longueur de la plaie, et que, bien qu'il y ait eu des différences entre ceux-ci et le groupe témoin, il n'y avait pas de différences statistiquement significatives dans les résultats entre la pommade à la matique et à la propolis. De plus, moins de patients souffrant d'inflammation, de douleur, de croûte, de nécrose et d'infection ont été trouvés dans les groupes traités à la matique et à la propolis au cours des 21 jours d'étude, par rapport au groupe témoin, toutes les caractéristiques macroscopiques importantes étudiées dans les plaies des différents groupes.
